Criminal justice data from other state agencies

Minnesota criminal justice-related data and information not available on the Minnesota Planning Web site may be found online from other state agencies.

Criminal forfeiture reports  

The Office of the State Auditor reports property seized by law enforcement due to criminal activity. This annual report includes data on forfeited property such as cash and motor vehicles.

Criminal history records

Criminal history records are not available online. The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension at the Minnesota Department of Public Safety does answer such requests.

Court statistics

The Minnesota Supreme Court has online District Court statistics of case filings, dispositions and pending cases.

Identify offenders

The Minnesota Department of Corrections allows Web access to some offender databases, which include pictures, names and offense convictions.

Minnesota Offense Codes

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension at the Department of Public Safety maintains the Minnesota Offense Codes, which are used by law enforcement to clarify criminal reporting.

Sentencing Guidelines Grid

The Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines Commission developed and maintains a model for rational and consistent sentencing standards for felony offenders.
