This report examines data access issues and the feasibility of establishing a Minnesota clearinghouse of computerized geographic information. This report of the Data Clearinghouse Committee of the Minnesota Governor's Council on Geographic Information describes a conceptual framework for a clearinghouse that would be a voluntary, cooperative effort of state and local government agencies, public and private organizations, and geographic data users. Resources on data preservation, technical standards, search engines and presentation tools also are outlined.
