Assistance Dogs for Individuals with Physical Disabilities and Veterans with PTSD

Organization Name: Helping Paws, Inc.
Description: The mission of Helping Paws is to further people’s independence and quality of life through the use of Assistance Dogs. Helping Paws places service dogs with individuals who have physical disabilities, other than the loss of sight or hearing' and veterans afflicted with PTSD. Applicants must be a minimum of 10 years old, a resident within Minnesota or the bordering areas of surrounding states and financially able to take full responsibility for a dog, including but not limited to dog food and veterinary care. After placement, Helping Paws continues to support our graduates and their service dogs throughout the lifetime of the dog. This includes both additional training as needs change as well as healthcare decisions for the service dogs.

Disabilities Served:
Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must be a minimum of 10 years old, a resident within Minnesota or the bordering areas of surrounding states and financially able to take full responsibility for a dog, including but not limited to dog food and veterinary care.
Areas served: All of Minnesota
Ages Served: 22 to 65
