Minnesota ABLE Plan
Department of Human Services
The Minnesota ABLE Plan allows people with disabilities and their families to save for many disability-related expenses, including assistive technology, on a tax-deferred basis. People can deposit money from a job, family members, friends, and others. ABLE funds do not count against asset limits for programs like Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medical Assistance, and other programs.

A person is eligible if they are entitle to benefits based on blindness or disability under Title II or XVI of the Social Security Act or has documentation that the person meets that level of disability. Additionally, the person's disability must have occurred before their 26th birthday.
