The Elderly Waiver is a program that funds home and community-based services for people age 65 and older who require the level of care provided in a nursing home and choose to live in the community. You must qualify for the Medical Assistance program to be eligible for Elderly Waiver services.
Persons who are age 65 or older and need a nursing facility level of care.
1. Be age 65 or older. 2. Be eligible for the Medical Assistance program. 3. Need nursing home level of care as determined by the Long-Term Care Consultation process. 4. Need services that Elderly Waiver can provide for less than the cost of care in a nursing home.
